Obrecht De Boer
Partner Painting Conservation
Obrecht De Boer (°B, 1977) graduated with a master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (now UA), in the specialisation of restoration of paintings. Obrecht is also a member of the professional association for conservators of art objects, BRK-APROA.
Obrecht started his career with assignments for private collectors and churches. Since 2002 he works e.g. for the Textile Museum in Tilburg, the Centre for Religious Art and Culture in Heverlee, as well as the museum Park Abbey on the same site, and the collection of the province of Vlaams-Brabant.
David Lainé and Obrecht De Boer have worked together since 2009 and are complementary.
Obrecht is a versatile painting restorer who, based on his experience with 17th century monumental works, also evolved towards modern and contemporary painting. He continues to attend additional courses, like at SBMK in the Netherlands, and is actively seeking out the synergy between artistic creation and the challenges and problems of contemporary art.
